Transforming Indian Railways

Sir need to take some more intiative to clean the railway.
1.TC collection system should be removed completely because they are getting cash collection from most of the weak economy class citizen who bring some material to there home when travelling by train.
2.cleaning system should be mechanised so that trains clean fast.
3.Trains runs on time and speed should be increased. The normal mail express limit should be 100-110,superfast train speed 120-140 and rajdhani speed limit 160-200km.
4.Reservation system should by more capable to public and need to increase the capacity of train so that waiting system should be removed before 4hrs of departure.

Thanx more

Hi, 1. Please outsource the following security services, maintenance, pantry & shopping area. 2. Seal entry and exit points so that only authorized person can enter 3. Make platform tickets bought along with main tickets at higher price and restrict number of people to a maximum 2 (visitors)per ticket. 4. Increase godown space in every station and penalize station master for goods scattered on the platforms 5. Provide dustbins and increase fines over Rs.1000/- for spilling waste in common place 6. Provide ID cards to all those who work inside the station. All these can be done with will and no huge budgets are required an effective implementation system will make the difference. Make penalties expensive so that people think before commit. Have surveillance cameras. more
1. Ban plastic on trains and throwing off these outside 2. Install escalators in every railway station with adequate capacity 3. Install new toilets which collect the waste rather than let it fall on the tracks. This in itself is a massive hygience and sanitation problem 4. Improve rail connectivity in Karnataka, Especially from Mangalore and Bangalore. The bus operators mafia has ensured that this does not happen. I pray the new government takes a strong hand approach in these matters. 5. All existing diesel operated engines should be retired and trains need to be run fully on electricity. Air conditioning inside trains - the idea of runnin these as well with electricity instea of diesel to be explored. 6. Local train connectivity to be improved in cities like Chennai ,Bangalore, Hyderabad instead of spending huge money on metro construction. more
it may be difficult to accept. but I understand that ticket less travel is more common in north than in south. Is more common in Bihar and UP. BeFore talking about anything let things be made straight there. increasing fares may be justified. But please please know that this can not be accepted. The efficiency levels in any govt.departments is poor and accountabilitoy by politicians is nill and interference is more. more
The Article by Swaminathan Ankelesaria Aiyar in the Times of India recent issue about this same topic Transforming the Indian Railways appealed to me well. Corporatisation of the Railways should be the first step. It should be made into another PSU. In fact several other PSU's such as having a 'Bullet Train Corporation' etc. as already suggested by Mr Swaminathan A Aiyer. Most of the ills mentioned would then be taken care of automatically. more
