If perception is everything than Rajiv Shukla is a much bigger wheeler-dealer than Lalit Modi. From cutting prime deals of land to fixing deals of the corporate, the Kanpur’s ‘patrakar’ Rajiv Shukla did much more harm to the gentleman’s game than fugitive Industrialist Lalit Modi.
Rajiv Shukla whose BAG films dubious contracts were under CBI scanner in early 2000 also got involved in dubious deals with tainted businessman Ashok Chaturvedi. Rajiv Shukla also faced enquiry in purchasing prime land in Andheri, Mumbai for Bag films. The land was reserved or a primary school. A 2,821-sq-m government-owned plot in Andheri, reserved for a primary school, was sold to BAG Films Education Society (BFES) for a paltry Rs 98,735 in 2008, recently released documents have revealed. In addition to this, the papers reveal, a 3,534.70 sq m plot adjacent to the first one, reserved for a playground, was allotted to BFES on a 15-year lease for just Rs 6,309.
A conservative estimate pegs the current market value of the two plots – located near Andheri’s Country Club at a staggering Rs 100 crore, and several activists have raised questions over their allotment.
Anuradha Prasad is the chairperson of the society, while her husband, Member of ParliamentRajeev Shukla, was secretary when the society applied for the plots way back in 2007. The state revenue department accepted the request and allotted the two plots to BFES in September 2008. Under Pressure Rajiv Shukla said that he would return the land. more

I think the man of the match is still Lalit Modi. He is the pupeteer, who holds the strings of these big wigs. Everyone has had a share of the pudding and the pie, he shared the booty with all of them . All of them are equally guilty. What was the congress Govt. doing ? There was no red alert for Lalit Modi , no extradition proceedings. He must be having a dossier on the manipulations of all these high and mighty, who have generously helped them selves with public money and did not possess the genius of Lalit Modi to create an IPL. 5 years and no action by UPA or NDA, they are all the same. Now Lalit Modi is having the last laugh and sends a new tweet everyday, so the channels can work all day, for the next days news. He directs this Tamasha. more

I fully agree. When Lalit Modi is being blamed for all the wrong doings the then office bearers are BCCI are treated as if they were not party to any wrong doing. Congress started investigation when Lalit Modi blew the whistle on Shasi Tharoor. Till then nobody was a culprit. sharad Powar, Rajiv Shukla and other office bearers remained unscathed.
