TRANSPERANCY REQUIRED IN RAILWAY BOOKING OF TICKETS
LAST WEEK, I HAD BOOKED ONE TICKET IN TATKAL FOR TRAVEL FROM CHENNAI TO ERNAKULAM. WHILE BOOKING AROUND 10 A.M. THE STATUS SHOWED 252 BERTH AVAILABILITY. WHILE MAKING THE BOOKING THROUGH INTERNET FROM OUR PLACE, AFTER MAKING PAYMENT ONLY THE TICKET POSITION COMES AND THE TICKET SHOWED WAIT LIST 28,29,30. THIS SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE RE-LOOKED. WE SHOULD KNOW THE POSITION CORRECTLY BEFORE MAKING PAYMENT AND NOT AFTER EFFECTING PAYMENT. NET RESULT, THE TICKET DID NOT GET CONFIRMED. I LOST RS.90/- TATKAL CHARGES AND THE POSITION I COULD KNOW ONLY AFTER REACHING STATION, AS THE CHART IS PREPARED ONLY 2 HOURS BEFORE DEPARTURE OF TRAIN. IF SOME ONE HAS TO TRAVEL FOR ONE OR TWO HOURS TO REACH STATION AN HOUR BEFORE DEPARTURE, HIS TRAVEL TIME AND COST ALSO ADDS UP THE LAST MINUTE TENSION AND HE CANNOT PLAN FOR HIS TRIP.
PLEASE TAKE UP THIS ISSUE AND POSITIVE ACTION TAKEN TO RECTIFY THE ANOMALY IN THE COMPUTER PROGRAMMING
