TREATED ECZEMA BUT NOT CANCER !
The recently met GST Council addressed the issues of exporters, traders,FMCG etc but left out the terrible condition of Flat buyers who booked their flats before 1July2017 !
The reviews, steps & amendments are good but this looks so callus because the flat buyers were mercilessly neglected !
This is like treating the eczema of a hand but not the cancer of another hand !!
The council spent time to bring down GST from 12% to 5% or 18% to 12% or so thus for a consumer of Rs.100 item who was purchasing it at say Rs.112 will now get it at Rs.105 thus a relief of Rs.5 and for this he/she will not go to any Consumer court as he/she automatically gets this benefit,BUT BUT BUT...
BUT.........the Flat buyers will have to go to the court and fight against the mighty builders putting the flats in abeyance in order to get the benefits of 'Input Tax Credit' on a flat of Rs.50 Lakh or so !
Bizarre ! Attention to Rs.100 but brutal indifference to Rs.50 Lakh !!
(GST@12% on a Rs.50Lakh flat is now Rs.6Lakh thus addressing Rs.5 or Rs7 but neglecting Rs.6Lakh !)
Why didn't the council simply make it mandatory to pass on the input tax credit automatically to the buyers exactly the amount the poor buyers are now being forced by the builders to pay GST@12% on under-construction flats?
Why the govt is pushing the builder-buyer to the boxing ring to punch each other and decide ?! more
