Treating eCommerce discounts as capital vs cost
So it seems flipkart paytm and other ecommerce companies are getting tax men demands.
These ecommerce guys treated the consumer discounts as cost while tax men is saying that look this is capital investment as these are artificial discounts (not really cost of doing business).
Capital has to be depreciated over a period of time while cost in same period so for all these years profts of ecommerce were understated. pay taxes.

Yes it should be taxed.With the online sales increasing,companies are finding ways and means to avoid and evade taxes.Taxmen need to be more smart in this age of IT. more
