Treatment for IBS in alternate medicine.

One of my friend is suffering from severe Irritable Bowl syndrome due to use of anti retro viral medication for quite long. The major concern is very frequent bowl movement and unable to retain. This is causing great agony and unable to attend office. a very renowned Physician is trying all allopathic remedies in vain. If any one can suggest alternate remedy, it will be of great help.
