Trolling, Abuse and Hate on Social Media: Inputs
Recently the nation witnessed another witnessed of trolling, abuse and hate on social media. These episodes have become too frequent and it doesn't take very long for the conversation to deteriorate.
Last year, LocalCircles took a campaign where majority of you supported that all social media platforms must pro-actively regulate their platform for such content. Some companies have already given an undertaking in the EU but there is nothing in place for India.
We seek your opinion on the above and further what other measures should be taken by such platforms to increase accountability.

Badly needed .Strict punishment like censoring, admonition, condemnation , detention, criminal cases filed in a graduated response by law. The Tv debates has been seen to be the main culprit not only politically but also religious attacks hurting majority sentiments. Open threats to people holding govt positions both in state and central governments must be taken seriously and cases booked.Open anti national rhetoric is treated as treason and tried by law. A separate dept at national level or inland security like US is needed. more

CJI's 2nd Comment ' Media is the Mother ' need to be understood . Mother shall none else than the Mother though Female can be a Mother, Wife, Sister, inlaws and aunts etc., Media alone is like the Mother to a Baby in protecting and protesting . more

Today news : AP DGP reminded TV Channels about strict follow of their earlier reminder and be away from such issues in their Channels. 1st is POLICING and the 2nd is to insert Clause 2 to 6 in Clause 1 a to g of Article 19 adding requisite responsibility . Issues can be Regulated by Parliament making Laws under Article 51 A , fixing Responsibilities as already mandated through 42nd Amendment in 1976. more

GOVT SHOULD MAKE IT MANDATORY THAT ALL PERSONS JOINING A WHATSAPP GROUP SHOULD GIVE THEIR AADHAAR CARD NUMBER WHILE BEING ADMITTED BY A GROUP ADMINISTRATOR. GROUP ADMINISTRATOR ALSO HAS TO GIVE HIS/HER AADHAAR CARD NUMBER WHILE BECOMING A GROUP ADMINISTRATOR .ANY HATE MESSAGE; FAKE MESSAGE CAN EASILY BE LINKED TO ITS CREATOR OR ITS FORWARDER. THIS ITSELF WILL DETER STRONGLY TO GENERATE/FORWARD A HATE MESSAGE AND EVEN A FAKE MESSAGE ON WHATEVER SUBJECT IT PERTAINS TO. AT LEAST THIS WOULD BE THE BEST USE OF AADHAAR CARD SO FAR more

Deleting a uncouth expression,threat, bad language, bullying, open abuse will not suffice . The troller must sign a undertaking to enter the platform ,but if found wanting in this aspect of defiance,badtroll, he not only should be blocked but also proceeded under law .Amend laws to bring order,civic sense,proper behaviour towards others exoresssions.Punsh these guys . more
