Trust Hospitals of Delhi - Scam

Can someone explain to me why are trust hospital doctors charging fees for OPD consultation as high as 1500-2000.

Similarly many doctors there prescribe meds that are available only in their own trust hospital pharmacy.

What has Health Minister Jain and his dept done on this? Anything? more

THE CHARGES SHOULD BE REASONABLE AND AS FAR AS POSSIBLE ONLY GENERIC MEDICINES SHOULD BE PRESCRIBED. BUT THE LOOT IS ON. THE EXPERTS VISITING THE HOSPITALS HAVE TO GIVE CUT TOT HE HOSPITALS FOR PROVIDING THEM THE CABIN AND STAFF. IN ADDITION THERE IS PRESSURE ON THE EXPERT TO CONVERT AT LEAST 35% PATIENTS INTO IN DOOR PATIENTS AND IMPROVE ROOM OCCUPANCY. THEY ARE ALSO ASKED TO PRESCRIBE SURGERIES AND ADDITION TESTS/SCANS TO BOOST PROFITS. MANY DOCTORS PRESCIBE A MEDICINE OF A LOCAL BRAND AVAILABLE ONLY IN THE PHARMACY NAR THE HOSP[ITAL. THE DOCTOR GETS A FAT CUT FOR THE NOT SO USEFUL MEDICINE. THERE SHOULD BE STRICT RULES FOR CURBING THE MAL PRACTICES. more
Now the question is what our Law Minister is doing? The law is framed by the Bureaucrats on the advice of the Minister. If the law is not framed in the interest of the doctor, the Law Minister will not feel comfortable and won't get any benefits. Ram Yadav more
When you go to a lawyer ,he or she may charge 20000 to 100000. That will not pinch you . Do you think he or she a Labourer whom you could pay as per your desire!! Trust hospitals not aided ,but charging high fees must sound a logic ,it is essential and humanitarian services and expertise of doctors must not be commercial .A doctor reach to this stage with the money and efforts of million hence it is unfair to charge illogically heavy amount. There is earnest need to put a cap on this profession and doctors must be answerable to legitimate body as they must be authorised for reasonable limit to take. Government forms so many ruled and regulations for medical profession but private hospitals escape comfortably ,they are either bypass or government do not make sincere efforts to pass the rules in favour of middle class . I think government need to keep hawk eyes to check inhuman and illegitimate medical practices unless and until, competent authorities at government not serious, nothing would come concrete. more
As it happens, there's a news item on the front page of the Times of India dated 18th April 2017 which indicates that the Government has decided to break the liaison between pharmacy companies and doctors, meaning that doctors will in future be advised to prescribe "generic" medicines which, one hears, are available for one-fourth the price of the pharma-products. more
