Unauthorised entry at Railway Platforms.

Many of our Railway platforms are crowded / over-crowded with relatives / friends of passengers accompanying to see them off. this culture need to change as is done at Airports. Along-with such well wishers we note un-authorized persons with ulterior motives too have access to the platforms posing a risk to travelers. This results in the Railway Platforms getting too crowded for the passengers to move freely and locate their compartment / move their baggage un-hindered

Can the railways introduce a system where only authorized passengers enter the platform by scanning their tickets at the entry point. The relatives / friends/ well-wishers can accompany the passengers till the barriers only ? This will avoid all the commotion at the railway platforms making ample space and silence for the travelling persons. more

Like that of Metro stations, issue tokens to enter the platform against tickets. more
loot by railway porters is big concern. at Howrah rly stn fixed fare trolley system has deployed. same has to be extend all other stations. more
Apart from seeing the relatives/ friends off at railway stations, please note that carrying luggage up to the coach and setting the same beneath the seats is also an important issue. Railway porter blackmail the passengers specially when a passenger is accompanied by ladies or small children. In case of senior citizen porters try to extort money as much as possible. But keeping luggage trolleys (like airport) is also not a solution considering the big crowd of passengers in comparison of airport. This needs to be solved in an humanitarian manner and a mechanical solution will not work. I suggest you to take regular feedback from the passengers/ persons visiting platform. more
