Unethical business by Home Saaz
Dear Members, I have been bringing out several posts on the issue of charging of taxes by the retailers on discounted MRP and also my various articles on my blog on the subject from 2014 onwards. My last post on 27th January 2018 was regarding adapting of the similar practices by Home Saaz. The issue was later on escalated to Govt. of Haryana based on their advertisement outside their show room about charging of taxes on the prices arrived after discounting.
Home Saaz in the first instance shared the invoice book pertaining to the period other than discount sales period and hence no irregularity was found during the inspection. The Legal Metrology officials were again persuaded to inspect the records pertaining to discount sale period based on the advertisement displayed outside the show room.
The officials could trace the transactions and found that the Home Saaz was violating the rules and now I am pleased to share the news that the Govt. of Haryana has penalised the retailer by issue of challan. Hope the retailer should be able to stop such unfair business parctices. Earlier Ritu Wear was also got penalised for the similar offecnce and later on stopped such unfair business.
I thank all the members who have encouraged me taking up issue with the Authorities. Shri Satya Pal Ratti is requested to retrieve the bill he has for purchasing from Home Saaz, Delhi and accordingly demand the refund of the excess amount charged towards taxes.
Members are also advised to take up the complaints through their State Controllers of Legal Metrology in case the retailers do not refund the amount so charged unethically. Please publicize such news so that the message reaches all retailers doing such unfair business. more

Mr. Virmani , you have taken up the cause on our behaf. Thank you . And you have also advised us to publicise the Prosecution as the best tribute to your work. We are redy and will be vigilent as sensible customers to curb the dirty practices of the Greedy . The publicity of the prsecution should be in own words or is there an order that can be posted in the face book whats App. more

I am hoping for a notification from Department of Consumer Affairs in this regard to whom I have escalated complaints of such nature encountered by me. Hope it should come soon. more

The best tribute I expect from the members is to publicise prosecution of Home Saaz and Riru Wears so that the message reaches in the market that we are vigilant and dedicated to root out such unfair business. Better stop such unfair business yourself. I am looking forward meeting Shri Atul Jauhari a member of this community to understand his view pointbon his advocating of charging taxes on discounted prices. So far he has not responded to my request of meeting. more

Referring to Shri G.C.Mathur comments Sir I requested all members to share with me the cipy of the invoice showing proof of purchase.Nothing was received. Then I sent communications to Home Saaz to share with me the copy of notification being claimed by them. Despite remibders Home Saaz did not respond. Next step was to bring matter to the attention of Govt. Of Haryana along with snaps of advertisement of discounted sales. The first inspection could not retrieve the unfairness. Officials were again persuaded for 2nd inspection anf finally succeeded in retrieving and challaning. Had any of the member shared copy of the invoice the task would not have been so tedious. Earlier also I got success with cooperation of Govt of Haryana in challaning Ritu Wears adapting to the same unfair business. Note worthy Ritu Wears issued undertaking to stop auch practices immediately and I am glad to share they have implemented their undeetaking in true spirit till date. Ii will be separately writing on Home Saaz the cause of such unfairness business. more
