Unethical means corruption
I would like to use this forum to alert all the members.
I booked 3, to n fro, airtickets on Indigo thru Yatra.com. (Jouney date - 30th May, 2015). When I went to the site of Yatra.com to cancel the tickets online, it showed and amount of Rs.13,500 (Rs.2,250 x 6) to be charged by the airlines (Indigo).
I went to the official site of Indigo and it showed Rs.1,500 per ticket as return charges.
I called Yatra.com on phone and complained about this discrepancy on their site. After confirming with the airlines, they advised that the amount shown by their site was wrong and I had to pay airlines cancellation charges as Rs.1870 per ticket.
I insisted that Indigo's official site was showing Rs.1,500 per ticket and that is what should be charged. They did not agree.
Left with no option, I agreed for the cancellation at that rate.
I am alerting all the members on these malpractices. Yatra.com tried to recover Rs.13,250 where as Indigo was charging less. Indigo declares on its website a flat amount of Rs.1,500 and also gives it in the news but actual recovery is higher than that.
If this forum escalates the matters of these corrupt practices up to the appropriate levels in the govt., I request for the same. more

It is so with all the airlines. If you book a ticket through an agent, he will charge extra. To get best bargain, check tickets on both official airline site and agent site. If & only if you are getting substantive benefit, buy from an agent. Else buy from official site. Best advantage of booking with official site is that the airline will assist you in case of difficulty (when you are stranded, you can approach the airline easily). If you have a ticket through an agent, you have to seek help through the agent. more

I am grateful to the members who suggested me to approach DGCA or CCI or Consumer Forum. I have one question - what is the advantage of bringing up various issues on Local Circles ? Is the Forum only for discussions or will it result in some action being taken at the appropriate levels so that corrective actions are ensured ? I think I am raising a very basic question on the utility of Local Circles. more

In India once the money is paid to the company it is gone and it is difficult to recover unless a company has very good reputation. more
