Unfair business practices of Pantaloons
Some of the tweets communication with Pantaloons for charging of GST on discounted sale prices (revised MRP) is quoted below for the information of the members of the Local Circle Community.
Me: @pantaloonsindia still adapting unfair business practices if misleading consumers on discounts n GST despite National Commission adjudication.
Pantaloons: This is only during the SALE period wherein we charge 5% GST on the discounted price, not the MRP. For values over 1000/-, the GST charged is 18% on apparel, however, we only charge our customers 5%. Post sale, there will be no GST on bills as MRP is inclusive of tax.
Me: Sir discounted price is also revised MRP n hence inclusive of tax. National Commission has already adjudicated on the matter. It is unfair trade practices.
The response itself substantiate unfair business practices by @pantaloonsindia . The retailer cannot frame its own rules for taxes. It is subject matter of Authorities. National Commission has already adjudicated n u seems to be adapting to contempt. more

It is a shame that Pantaloons which is a reputed firm is resorting to such unethical business practices. What are the concerned government agencies are doing? more

Sir, I refer to your post where you have uploaded the pictures. Sir is it possible for you to share the soft copy of the bills for purchase of these items. I have already requested Govt. of India to take action against Home Saaz as the incident happened was in Haryana. On receipt of your bills, I will appeal to Govt. of Delhi to take appropriate action. more
