UNFAIR PRACTICE OF INFLATED MRP PRINTED ON GENERIC MEDICINE

The government of India & the Ministery Of Health needs to stop the malpractice of printing inflated MRP on generic medicine. A generic medicine that has an MRP of Rs.120. can be purchased from some shops at Rs.45/ and others selling at Rs. 120/ itself. Same medicine if you buy from a wholesaler you can get it below 35/. Why government is not checking this type of loot. Recently I brought a strip of medicine from Punjab with MRP of Rs.810 (15 Tablets) Later I found that was generic. I searched branded and MRP was 565/ for a bottle of 30 tablets. Next time I was lucky to find a good generic of the same made by DavaIndia they too have 30 tablet packing and the price is Rs.330/
Now can any of the consumer affairs or Ministry of Health or Govt of India explain how and why some generic manufacturer is allowed to sell the medicine at 300% of the MRP of branded medicine. Can you call it fair practice or cheating? The company which is doing such cheating is fit to be prosecuted. Two days back PM had inaugurated the 7500th Jan Aushdi counter but can you feed whole India with 7-10thousand shops, where only a limited number of medicines are available and on other hands you keep eyes closed towards the biggest fraud and cheating by these unscrupulous Pharma Companies or Shops. But if government make a law that only genuine prices can be printed on Generic medicines and this problem can be controlled easily. more

MRP has become a Mockery in Medicines area. Here many shops are ready to give rebate up to 20%. Where as in non of the businesses the businessman give you any rebate over the MRP price. This needs Govt's intervention. more
It is unfortunate that the generic medicines are printing inflated MRP on generic medicine. more
Previously there was drug control act where the prices were in control & manufacturer has to put the same on packing. Now the prices control is not there . Hence it is happening. Govt. should make strict rule on it But in this case they will loose their funding from these companies. more
Why can't go to generic medical shops in big hospitals, you can ask for avilebilty and rate and then purchase. You can also government run genric medical chain in government hospitals at district level more
Inflated price is an organised loot by the manufacturer, retailer and dealers. The customer get totally confused because of such inflated price and have no choice but to pay what ever is being asked by the shopkeeper. It will be of great help to the cutomers if this practice could be checked and defaulters are punished. more
