Unfair Pricing by Tanishq
Visited a Tanishq yesterday for the first time. They charge making charges as a percent of the Gold price, say 20%
For example, if an item weighs 10 gm and the cost is say Rs 33,000/-, which was just a few days back, then the making charges are Rs 6,600/-. However, the gold price has now increased to Rs 40,000/- for the same item and the making charges are Rs 10,000/-.
That means the Tanishq profit has increased by Rs 3,400/- per 10 gm without doing anything.
All the ethical jewellers have making charges based on gram weight.
Never imagined a Tata company can be so unethical.
Not really, Tata DoCoMo was similar.
Are they paying making charges to the makers in Percentage ? If yes, It is justified to charge from the customer. If they are not paying in percentage and paying per item, then they need to charge similarly from customer too.

This is just exploitation of public. Government restriction should be imposed.

Gentleman In my experience atleast Tanishq gives purity. I got my wife's bangles tested for purity and found it had different carats at all the places for bangles purchased locally. If you resell Tanishq product it's easy as purity is there. You buy a product locally and get it tested at minimum 6/7 points and do it for Tanishq too. You will know the difference You can also try MMTC as it's a government organization REGARDS
