Unfair trade practice alert: Why is Google allowed to run payments when data is not here?
I read in the newspaper where Whatsapp is not allowed to run payments because their data is also not here. I checked the Google payment policy and do not find where the data is being kept. I use GPay, where is my data going and how is my data used? I keep seeing GPay ads on youtube and when surfing online, how do they know what I am doing? We Indians should not let these foreign companies take data out of our homeland. Indian companies should work hard and win. Who can tell us what are they doing? more

Other then OTP, All details are stored by third party vendors. Some of them stored in masked form. It helps them to track fraudulent transactions. more

Why do regulators in India give long time to foreign companies to comply. We fought face ooka freebasics in 2015 and then ecommercd guys now this. more

Yes indeed. The data storage and use within India must be made mandatory and regular checks on all entities must be carried out to enforce compliance. more
