Unfair trade practices at malls, airports , Cinemas

I have observed that water bottle cost much higher when you buy them from mall they cost even higher when you buy them from Airports...

The water is same however just because they are packed differently they charge us more... I am not sure if this is justified also not sure why the manufacturers should agree to participate in such unfair practices...

Just to give a gist
Airport
> A Veg Puff which will not cost more than 10 rupees is sold for 150 rupees in Blore airport
> Water 500 ml is sold for 40 rupees. In market we get 1 litre for 18 rupees
> Coffee will cost you upwards of 110 rupees

Cinemas / Mall
> Similar discrepancy though they dont charge as much as airport...

This are public places where a common man would like to use these basic amenities... there needs to be cap on how much can be charged and ensure that just because they have a separate packing they cannot overcharge the consumers for same stuff sold for much lesser in markets.

Also as customer experience how can we ever build India as transport hub for Asia, when everything you get on airport is so blatantly overcharged. If we make our outlets competetive they will still make more profit on account of increased sales volumes... more

What is the definition of Common man in India? Common Man in India does not travel by Air or drinks bottled water. It is not possible for the Government to regulate every activity in an economy and leave most of the balancing to market forces which work very well. Most of the developed countries have limited regulation which has taken them to greater hights and improved the quality of life of their citizens. Ultimately regulation has to be implemented by the Government employees who have lower ethics than that of business men and manufacturers who deal with consumers and have the fear of loosing customers if customer has a choice. more
We can talk only but who will/can raise the voice to reach the IMPLEMENTING AUTHORTIES. more
Water being natural source should came free BUT even though cost being regulated on packed by our GOVT. it is very high and goes up by place to place. more
Govt. should standardized the rates of all consumable or eatables with some reckoner which should be available for sale at all these points. more
It is absolutely correct more
