UNICEF suggestions to save kids from pollution

Suggestions are below but question is does Delhi Govt and Central Govt have willingness to do their part. So far both have been ZEROS.

Reduce air pollution by investing in cleaner, renewable sources of energy to replace fossil fuel combustion

Provide affordable access to public transport; increase green spaces in urban areas; and provide better waste management options to prevent open burning of harmful chemicals

Provide appropriately fitting air filtration masks to children to reduce the risk from exposure to pollutants

Create smart urban planning so that major sources of pollution are not located near schools, clinics or hospitals

Improve children’s overall health to improve their resilience, which includes the prevention and treatment of pneumonia, as well as the promotion of exclusive breastfeeding and good nutrition

Improve knowledge and monitoring of air pollution more

Lamenting is destiny of every other Indian. Those who are at the helm, have other priorities too. Those who can think uselessly, are you and me. more
Yes, cleaner and better technologies are available with 100% Make In India label. All Pathbreaking revolutionary technologies developed by sons f the Indian soil! CELLULOSIC ETHANOL FROM HARVEST WASTES Post harvest wastes like rice, wheat straws can be used to extract Biofuel, Cellulosic Ethanol.Technology validated in Panjab University, Chandigarh for a yield of 300 litres from 1 Metric Tonne of wheat or rice straws.Entrepreneur scientist require only around Rs 100 Crores funding to set up a Demonstration Plant which will pave the way for large scale Bio-refineries using such wastes which are either under utilised or wasted. It is possible to develop and extend this proven technology to use many other wasted or under utilised harvest residues or Biomass.Examples: Bagasse from sugarcane bamboo and grass varieties. VEDIC SCIENCES Sewage, sullage and toxic industrial effluents pollute surface water bodies like lakes, ponds, wells and rivers and agricultural lands where it is dumped.Proven technology ready for scale up available with 100% Make In India tag. Scientist name: Swami Valmiki Sreenivasa Ayyangarya of Karnataka, India. He has developed many technologies based on Vedic Sciences little understood in modern times. He can help avert Global Warming with many applications of his technologies, as also make agriculture sustainable and capable of giving consistent yields, without any pollution on land, air and water resources and that too food, fuel or fibre free of any toxic residues! I fail to understand as to why concerned decision makers, both executive, legislature and the judiciary which only emit pompous political slogans at election time and pronounce judgements without any connection with ground realities. more
We are living in a world of ignorance. Every night in every street, security guards burn wood, coal, and paper. Nobody bothers. Every morning MCD sweeper flies dust removing it from one place and settling it at other places around. Nobody bothers. How long can we keep our eyes closed ignoring these small things but keep talking big? more
Yes....... I just read about the suggestions given by UNICEF. Masks and such things are not remedies fir reducing pollution.... but just its effects. Urban planning has to indeed be such that public transport can be used by all people. But Indians don't like to use public transport even if available. Its a huge EGO issue to own a huge SUV and only drive to work ALONE. We must also understand that public transport is usually unavailable in most US cities and towns other than a few of the very large cities. However, to have public transport in large cities, the cities have to be planned and laid out accordingly. This is just not possible in most Indian cities. Imagine a public transport system in Chandni Chowk Area of Old Delhi? It is just not feasible. The only real way is to knock down old buildings and residences in many areas of old cities, mercilessly and reconstruct suitably. IS THIS POSSIBLE and ACCEPTABLE by us? It is a malady of Indian public that we want everything.... We want the Government to do everything..... we don't want to pay for anything...... WE also don't bother to throw litter around... WHY DON'T WE BLAME AND CONTROL OURSELVES AND OUR ACTIONS? more
Strange that an international organisation like UNICEF should prescribe suggestions to save "KIDS ONLY" from pollution. Pollution attacks adults as much as it does kids. more
