Unless something is done to ban or reduce rampart use of plastic carry bags, they will continue to be littered in market palces, residential areas and parks. Many fo these plastic bags ultimatley clog/jam our drains and sewarage systems.
In our locality in Salt Lake, Kolkata, the use of plastic carry bags have been banned and few shops use large plastic bags of more tahn 40 microns thick and give it to customer on chrgeable basis at Rs. 2 per bag. This has considerably reduced generous use of plastic carry bags. more

Thanks, Ms. Peea Bal( Garia). what about stoppage of bags in Garia or near your locality. You would recall use of plastic carrybags were banned by the government but as it usually happens , it has not been sustained. more
