Unreserved passengers in reserved coaches of Day time express trains - Reg.

I traveled in Train No.12676 Kovai Express from Salem to Arakkonam on 07/06/2015. I joined at Salem Junction. This train is provided with 3 minutes halt at Salem Junction. In all reserved coaches 50% of the seats are filled by Salem passengers. Boarding all the reserved passengers in the stipulated 3 minutes is a difficult task.

When the train halts in the platform I tried to board in one of the entrance in D5 coach. The door was found locked. Group of unreserved passengers were sitting near the door way and the locked door for their convenience. I asked them to open the door. They refused to open the door and directing me to use the other entrance.

I tried to enter in the next entrance. In other entrance also huge amount amount of reserved passengers were boarding. With grate difficulty, just before starting the train from the station I could board the train.

Restricting the unreserved passengers in reserved coach is a difficult task. But blocking the entrance by the unreserved passengers can be avoided. TTE should help in keeping the door way free from unreserved passengers encroachment. TTE should not allow unreserved passengers to lock the doors in the coaches and blocking the entrance by sitting in the entrance. Because most of the day time express trains are provided with one or two minute halt at stations.

Railway administration has to advise all TTE to ensure that entrance is not blocked/locked in the reserved coaches. Such a passengers should be penalised. Please allow the reserved passengers to board the train. more

Thus is more acute in trains between major stations like Pune and mumbai. Anyvtrain which leaves Pune in the morning and reaching Mumbai before 11 am has this problem. What more irritating then the arrogant attitude of these so called 'regular office goers' is the total compliance from the TT. Most of these 'regulars' Think that it is their right to get into reserved and a/c coaches and the staff is very friendly with these people, often exchanging greetings and pleasantries, while turning a blind eye to the inconvenience caused to the legitimate passengers. Thanks Rammohan more
I feel there should be a task force for tackling this kind of problem. It can be introduced on experimental basis to evaluate its efficacy and then the Railways could think of making it permanent. There will be a need for manpower and I feel the members of our group should come forward voluntarily and fill up the manpower necessity. Modalities can be worked out, once it is approved for experimentation. more
This is a problem faced by the reserved passengers in many trains. This needs the attention of Railway Authorities. more
