Unsafe food via food apps

Ordering food from food apps has become a fashion but these food apps are clueless about food safety practices.

A south Indian restaurant for instance sends boiling hot sambhar in a thin plastic container instead of atleast a thermocol container.

A lot of food can spoil during delivery too and FSSAI must set rule for food delivery industry.

FSSAI certified restaurants like coffee day still Heat food in non microwaveable plastic and serve.

Wake up please fsssai and food delivery apps. more

The suppliers must be regulated and rules framed to pack and supply . more
The consumers should first be cautious and choosy prior to placing a food order. Its not wise to blindly depend on the good sense prevailing in the suppliers and the government agencies to always take care of the consumers. more
Not always there is ned for FSSAI to work. If customers are not happy the restaurant will have to mend its ways. Our customers should be very choosy about the services. If that is possible such problems will sort out by themselves.  On Saturday, 10 November 2018 11:53 AM, Sanjana Gupta wrote: more
All the comments are VALID. We should not ape western habits for all and SUNDRY. with lots of RESTAURANTS, around our neighbour hood, we should not feel LAZY to order ONLINE CATERING more
1. Not only the food apps but home delivery from other restaurants is also not safe. At times we have to order from local restaurants due to paucity of time for preparation at home or wanting some variety etc. When the delivery person delivers the hot food in a cheap polythene or plastic container I cringe away and almost feel like refusing to accept. Even if I boycott such restaurants, there will be ten other outstretched hands to keep accepting food in such substandard, harmful packaging. 2. Enforcement of rules and regulations is missing/indifferent or weak in following in almost all the fields. Enforcement is required to follow safety standards. Only then can the consumers come forward to raise their voices, otherwise this will carry on. more
