Unsolicited messages on whatsapp

This is a very timely survey by LocalCircles. Can members please share their experience.

I feel the spam messages sent are not just by vendors and local folks who steal/get a handle on your numbers but even by facebook and whatsapp.

I think whatsapp and facebook are selling our details to advertisers and they send whatsapp messages

Please share your experience.

Meity or IT ministry needs to take up this matter on priority more

This is perhaps nothing unusual. Once we share our personal details on an open platform on our own interest, so the owner has the full right to sell it once feels it a good opportunity to generate revenue. So other side use it for expanding business. The is the style of the game now. Hence such activities continue. more
We get unwanted messages mostly the propaganda type. The present day politicians at the centre try to present wonders are being done now and the earlier regime did nothing in 70 years. We see what is going on in AP in the last 3years. The centre sup[orts the person who is bent upon destruction with so many cases against him. What are they bragging about? more
I am of the view that Mr. Chnaderkiran Nanda is correct nothing comes free. If you want something you will have to pay for it one way or the other. Take for example U tube for advt free viewing you have to subscribe U tube by paying. So if you want it bear with it or don't use it. more
Our information is definitely being leaked/sold for commercial purpose. I have come to a conclusion that this can be stopped by legislation. You have to stop receoving their calls. Don't pick unknown numbers. more
Bang On at 9:00 A.M. every day, I get a call (True Caller Identified as VI local). I once blocked that number and the call came from a different number. So there isn't any doubt about compromising of data. Even when you surf the net looking for a product, you can be sure you will get Ads of the same in FB as also SMS. As for our Ordinary Member with Extra Ordinary bitterness, I guess he has had it bad. Try searching for Burnol and surely you'll get Offer of that product for 10 different sites. more
