UP Govt on school fees
A nine member committee has been constituted to look into school fee issues. In addition to principal secretary (secondary education) it has secretary, higher education; secretary, basic education; director, secondary education; director, basic education; and special secretary, higher education as its incumbent members. Some how, chairman of DPS Ghaziabad society has been appointed as the nominee for the private secondary school which does not make much sense. Why are there no representative of parents on the committee? Also why cant some members of media who have been pursuing the cause be included.

I agree. Representatives from different cities and also rural parts of UP should serve this Committee. Women representative-particularly parents and also senior students who have recently passed school should serve on the Committee. more

To make the committee evenly balanced, parents representation in the same should be there, they should represent both the Private and Government schools. more

Having so many members on any committee is a recipe for failure. And it is surprising that the victims of the schools , ie, the parents are not on board! What can we expect from such a committee? What powers have been given to the committee? What is the timeframe? more

Whatever comittee is formed but we request CM to take decisive step to reduce the financial burden on parents due to high expenses on education which is almost 6-7 thousand rupees for a junior school going kid. more

Having at least two representatives from Parents is a fair request. The Government must consider favourably. more
