Up road preparedness and requirements for commercial licenses
Bus crashes continue to be a norm in India and not a week goes by when you dont hear of a bus crash. Yesterday one in himachal 20 died 40 injured.
Can we do 2 things?
Ensure all commercial licenses are granted only after thorough and detailed testing.
Install crash barriers, audit all roads, and the engineers and contractors responsible for missing these basic installations must be booked for causing countless deaths and injuries.
Please give your ideas and hope LC will escalate this. more

Government should initiate action to fix standards for all types of roads. Only after certified by the competent authorities vehicular traffic need to be allowed. Periodically competent authority should issue fitness certificate for plying vehicles. Infact the roads in the himalayas need continuous maintenance and management more

These suggestion may be good and constructive. However, the fault does not always lie with the drivers. Check must also be done on the quality of roads...........which is more than deplorable in the mountain regions.... more

Driving licence rules must be amended in a such way that the licence is cancelled due to negligence or defaults successively by the drivers. Insurance premium must be based on besides, the engine size and value of the vehicles, number of traffic violations. Similarly contractors who built the road and bridges must be punished heavily in terms of cash and imprisonment for bad quality of construction and recover the cost for reconstruction from them. Regular awareness campaign must be conduct to educate drivers as they are invariably illiterates. more

Instead of the fashion of naming and renaming Roads dedicating it to living or dead politicians who continue to take a toll of people by accidents besides many whom they might have killed when alive, I feel that the roads should be having a board of Engineers, contractors and Department heads who executed that particular stretch of roads so that in case of the roads breaking or being cause of accidents, there is a handy list for booking the culprits. more

Yes, I agree with Saritaji. Now a days "Talk(Mobile) and drive" is more dangerous than drink and drive. Government should take it seriously and take coercive measures to stop mobile phone using while driving. more
