Upper berth issued without consent :

Yes, I do agree. The system of IRCTC is not fool-proof. Many times you feel cheated when you board the train and find that you are allotted middle or upper berth. more

well in my opinion senior & handicap passgengers should get lower berths least for humaitarian grounds, railways is doing a good job for sure, but pls just try a little harder tks irctc. more
This is a serious and long pending problem. Railways should maintain a protocol that the lower berths are allotted only to senior citizens only instead of making the begging the co-passengers to oblige. Most of the senior citizens undertake travel in the last minute and hence the lower berths should be released like Tatkal only. more
The senior citizen should always be allotted lower berth only which is not happening at this stage. more
I am frequent traveller from chennai & Trichy(Srirangam) either by Chennai- Mangalore Express or some other train. I have been facing lot of problem in getting lower berth as I could not climb to Middle Berth even. I am running 72 years age. They allot upper berth and I have to request co passengers or TTE to get lower berth in the train there by I feel so embaressing. In addition, when I travel in day train viz cholan exp. or Rameswaram exp. to Trichy inLower berth, the co passengers is insisting thatthe berth is only from 6 pm to 6 am. As an aged person, we book berth during day train so that we can relax and we pay the berth charges. People do not realise and comment which hurts. Will rly. authority look into this matter atleast allot lower berths to the aged. more
