Urgent Advice
Friends,
This is in regards to someone in the immediate family.
The patient is 86 years old and been suffering from Psoriasis since last 7 years. (Medication - been taking Methotrexate 2.5mg, once a week and Azoran 50mg, 2 tabs daily)
Present condition of patient - Suffering from frequent loose motions, vomiting, fever, abdominal pain, ulcers in the mouth and headache. Has been hospitalized for 7 days now but not responding to treatment.
Yesterday's pathology report:
Haemoglobin - 8.3 gms
WBC - 400
Platelets - 13000
All differential counts - 0/0
The patient's condition is deteriorating day by day. Has been moved from regular hospital to a Cancer Hospital/Oncology treatment in Bhopal.
Need inputs on:
1) The state of the patient
2) Which Dr/hospital in Delhi/NCR has expertise in this area.
3) It will be quite an effort to move the patient over and is it worth it.
Look forward to your inputs.

Thank you Col. Chandra. He is still hospitalized and we are hoping the WBC and platelets will self sustain soon. If not, additional diagnosis will have to be done. more

Thank you everyone and special thanks to Dr. Gandhi, Mr. Gupta (Medical Diagnostics circle) and Mr. Jain The WBC count for the patient has moved from 400 to 1700 to 10000 today. Platelet count is still low at 16,000, working on transfusion. Tests suggested by Dr. Gandhi for cancer detection are being done. more
