Use of Dangerous Pesticides - Discussion and Action needed
Latest research is suggesting paralytic attacks are related to pesticides.
Organisation like FSSAI and others in GOI must take active responsibility at cutting down the sources of such lethal products at source/factory/import. Its very scary and I do hope my post results in dialogue and inputs from members in the circle and even FSSAI
The most widely used pesticide, Neonicotinoids, is becoming the main cause of lethal problems across the globe. Studies prove that the pesticide is the prime reason for disrupting human hormonal functions and health.
According to the study published in Environmental Health Perspectives, Neonicotinoids may have a negative impact on human health by disrupting our hormonal systems.
It was analysed that the use of Neonicotinoids have harmful effects on insects and honeybees so much so that it ruins their nervous system by killing them with paralysis. Although there is a lot that needs to be studied in terms of the effect of the pesticide on the human nervous system. more

Pesticides which are banned in other countries or otherwise found to be damaging for the soils and ground water should be banned including their production in India. No import should also be allowed. more

Banning of pesticides wrests with the ICAR and PESTICIDES control board. However, the FSSAI along with BIS prescribes max lts of allowed pestcides. It is a pity that, we in INDIa, have not come forward to ban many pesticides banned in many countries Krishnan more

There is urgent need to resurrect Food/Health Regulators in India. Presently, Indian manufacturers look upto USFDA for any approval/disapproval/EIR and that becomes a big news. What our Regulators are doing ? what for they are appointed ? Are they not responsbile for any mal practise taking place in the manufacturing/sale of any consumable ? The corruption and non-accountability has led to this situation. From Manty to Santri no body is accountable. Everybody's job is secure. The Govt. must change the service rules and fix the responsibility of each official and remove the under performers quickly to protect the health of consumers and earn the status of USFDA for Indian Regulators. more
