Use of Palm Oil in Food Products

There is widespread communication about the adverse effects of Palm Oil on Heart Health. In some countries it's use in Food Products is banned. Still India allows Import of this oil paying foreign exchange. Just because it is much cheaper than conventional oils it is used in almost all fried ready to eat Food Products like Breads,Bicuits,Wafers etc by even reputed Brands. On one hand we spend increasingly for healthcare but have no qualms about allowing use of Palm Oil in Food Products which is adangerous health hazard. Though Indonesia is the largest producer of Palm Oil , it is not used there but exported to India who is the largest Importer of Palm Oil. It is hightime we create awareness about this serious health hazard. more
