Use of polythene bags by vegetable vendors
Despite of the Poly bags are banned in UP the vegetable vendors are using it without any fear.

Every thing can not be left to Noida authority. If you & I do not expect the vendors to provide us polythene covers and carry our own bags, the problem will disappear. Let us become responsible & awakened citizens of the new India. more

Actually the Vegi-Fruit Vendors in Noida are indeed scared of using Plastic bags. Though I know that they keep 5-6 in their pockets. They always ask the buyers to bring their own bags, but when the buyer does not have, vendor dips into his pocket and looks around and gives your purchased item in a plastic bag. The FAULT IS ENTIRELY OURS. It is the buyer who should be caught and punished. That will resolve matters faster. more

Effective implementation is a key issue in India. We should also ensure that we use recycle bag for our shopping. Moreover unless the law will start from across the board, it will have little buy in from small vendors. I am sure if government would have started the ban from big businesses houses, it would have have been more engagement from small vendors. I wonder why there is no bam on selling shampoos, ketchup etc in pouches, why no bam on chips and namkeen packets. Why no ban on milk pouches, ice cream etc and list can go on. Vegetable vendors is just a very small part of plastic use. It is much easy to implement the law from big food chain than vegetable vendors. more

In Sector 15-A we have got all shop keepers and rehri wallahs to stop using polythene bags. It took us about 6 months to do this.
