Use Technology for Betterment of Indian Railways
1. Instead of CCTV cameras at the reservation counters to catch the tatkaal frauds manually, check for their ID as authentication,
2. Use face recognition to catch the repeated offenders
3. Use Entry authentication(using PNR/Platform ticket validation, etc) in to stations to restrict unauthorized people entering stations
4. Do not let unauthorized people to sleep on the platforms, near reservation counters, etc
5. Give handheld devices/tabs to TTs to validate the tickets & avoid the paper based verification and ticketing
6. Real-time checking of the berths instead of chart preparation mode.
7. Use Big Data & Analytics to track the tracks usage, berths availability, etc
8. Run additional weekend services to catch extra revenue
On top of all. do not wait till budget to do some improvements / changes more

Tatkal Fraud is not done at reservation counters but on Net using special software which books 4 tickets at a time in 20 seconds more

Its a matter of common knowledge that contractors load goods wagon & show much lesser weight in booking slips resulting in leakage in Freight earned by Railways. Suggest that Goods carrying wagon should be having inbuilt mechanism / electronic weigh scale in wagon itself which shows laden & Unladen weight of carrying wagon. Railway order to wagon supplier shud be having said clause & for existing wagon can be retrofitted. Feel this can be done easily by manufacturer at time of supply itself. more
