Useless DG set ban

Can we please do something via these circles so come october November this useless rule of no dg set under GRAP is not done again. This is just a way to inconvenience people and Esp those who are elderly and sick and need equipment to breathe. Officials walk into societies to get their cuts.

If the Govt has to implement because NGT or EPCA says so then there needs to be a penalty on the utility company per connection 5% of average bill value discounted for every 1 hour of power failure. Even if power goes for 10 mins they have to discount bill by 5%.

I agree with Rajani Kantha and will like to add that there should be penalty for the Discoms who fail to deliver more
All offices should be accountable for their fail. Why always consumer will be on receiving end. more
I totally agree with the suggestion that the ban on DG sets is wholly unnecessary and unfair. No consumer uses DG sets if the Electricity supply from the grid is available. Consumers should not be penalised for the sins of the Electricity supply companies and they should in turn be penalised for the interruption in power supply. Rajanikanta Verma more
Yes, let’s make the discoms accountable and penalise them for the incompetence of our officials. That’ll teach them to run a business! How dare they think of curbing their losses, let alone try to make a profit? Before you all form and mobilise a cartel to take down the tyranny of these discoms, understand the reeling pressure they have to operate in. Clearing their dues in time is a state subject; check with your local elected official how much does her/his office owes to the discoms till date. Even though cheaper power is easily available, the PPA forces them to buy power at exorbitant prices and then distribute most of it for free; because freebies get govts elected. And then the domineering autocratic order of powering down a power generation plant to show the efforts of the government in their battle against pollution; discoms now have to buy power from alternate sources. Please educate yourselves and walk a mile in their shoes before going up in arms and shooting down the most vulnerable target. P.s.: for those already have formed an opinion about me, no, I do not work for a discom or any power company in general. more
There is a good idea in your suggestion for penalising the utility company. It should be evaluated fully to understand it's viability. more
