Vaccine Profiteering Begins
Recvd an email from my housing society in Noida. Special vaccination camp for residents where Fortis will charge Rs 1050 for a dose of covishield. 75% markup over the Serum price of Rs 600. Clear profiteering in absence of any regulatory oversight. Will UP Govt intervene???? more

Sir I have done HR CT-SCAN at Deewan Diagnostics Ghaziabad on 21-May-2021 and they have charged Rs.4000 and inspite of my repeated request they have not even less Rs.1. You have to be put in monitoring for 30 min after vaccination and that is responsibility of fortis. Rs 900 extra isn't a big amount for life saving vaccine from any measure, specially if getting with convince. Even zomato charges Rs 50 for food delivery. more

it totally depend on services , they are mobilizing their workforce and equipment's to vaccination site. I will pay 500 Rs extra if they come at my home for vaccination. its just like a service ,depend on the type of service ,you need to pay like when going on vacation you have various mode of transport and accommodation with various services.one can stay in a dharmshala or a 3star hotel or a 5 star or you can book whole farmhouse etc. more

Sir you got to realize one thing that this not about something where we spend as per our liking and budget this is about mass vaccination where people of all income groups are involved.So the price should be reasonable enough which most of the people can afford easily. This I'm replying in good faith that all of us should try to understand common concerns with a positive attitude. more

I agree with Shalini that government should intervene in this matter and should fix a reasonable price. Earlier the vaccine was available for Rs.250 only and now 600 and we are ready to pay that price but over charging in the name of giving the facility at your place is not good. In any society there are minimum 300-500 people to be vaccinated,so we count the over charged amount that comes to around 1.5 to 2 lacs approx and even more. This is quite a big amount and I don't think that transportation,refrigerator and attendant cost this much to any hospital anyways. So Shalini ji is right as government should look into this matter and fix a justified amount for the hospitals who are providing this service. more
