Very Sad.. This shameful act again went unnoticed while the nation celebrated 26 Jan

As per confirmed reports, a three-year old girl was raped in South Delhi on 24 January and then dumped in the bushes to die.
The victim is said to be out of danger, but for girls and women across the country, the danger still lurks.
As India woke up to a lot of optimism and celebration today, a lesser, often forgotten India also woke up to a sad reality that has existed for long, but hardly cared for except intermittently, when it is politically convenient, when no foreign dignitaries are due to arrive in the country.
Make no mistake, we are proud of our nation for what it is today.
But even as Puja Thakur became the first Indian woman to lead the guard of honour, the honour of a tiny tot was left unguarded only to be ravaged by a savage.
Tanks, missiles and heavily armoured marching contingents of the armed forces, the paramilitary and police forces interspersed with brass and pipe bands marching in perfect unison did nothing to protect this child.
We are too quick to install 15000 CCTVs overnight to ensure Obama's safety, but too lazy to install few after Nirbhaya's Rape Nationwide Outrage.
We are the nation in which farmers commit suicide everyday, and wisemen defend the government by throwing up numbers that show how farmer suicides occur in other countries too!
We are the nation in which politician increase their own salaries in a single parliamentary session but our brave soldiers have to wait for the next pay commission to get a raise.
And to the respected hardcore patriots shaking their heads in disagreement and asking us to stop defaming our nation, asking us to stop talking and start doing, we would humbly like to point out that we are common people just like you, and our role in nation-building is that of a responsible medium of information (Unlike other media houses whose idea of a more informed citizen is someone who knows what Sherwani Kunal Khemu woreon his wedding with Soha Ali Khan).
We are as much concerned about our nation and it's people, as you are. We believe that we cannot claim to be well-informed if our first reaction to challenges is to bury our heads in the sand like an ostrich.
We request our community members to kindly share their humble opinions and views with us!

thanks Padmaja for bringing to light the dichotomy of the nation---being liberated on the one hand and falling prey to the beast at the other end.....really i can feel the anguish, pain and humiliation as a human being this thought brings in its train of thoughts.....i tried shaking it off but could not, a small part of each of us dies on hearing thisanews-totally unfit for consumption -but simply can't be bypassed....i as a man am getting so affected, i feel the horror that runs through the veins of all womenfolk who hear this...whats the answer?, where's the answer? if prayers alone could do the trick, let us do that with the passionate plea to get to the root of the malaise that is threatening to create cracks in the very fabric that sustains it..... oh my god, show us the way to remedify this scenario which gives such a creep that breathing straight becomes an issue-as every girl will vouch for-and what this will induce her to view males like...breakdown of trust is the reason why we then start finding compartments to shield this rather than get to the roots..... i saw a few roots which seemed to be saying that this male testerone hormone must be channelized in sports/adventure/etc. where the male hormone may perform to get the attention and attraction of the female hormones.....which would be the basis of the intermixing of the sexes, mutual complementarity...... no less important would be to provide the correct education to the masses of the nature human interactions.... and lots more in creating space for more and more cultural activities like music, dance, drama and the arts to take place as the basis to provide the belongingness in the togetherness.... more
I fully agree with you & request the Govt. not to remove the CCTV cameras installed after Obamaji left the country But install some more of them in other areas of Delhi & make Delhi a lot safe. more
I appreciate the idea and every possible and effective provisions should be made. Public must be motivated to help it to stop. Madhu more
Education for all is a must as well and needs to impart the sense of right and wrong along with consequences of any wrong act. In most situations criminals are able to get away even if they are caught. more
