VIP culture with COVID everything

I think we need to have discussions on how COVID everything is infested with VIP culture. Earlier it was getting hospital bed. Now it is vaccine.

Corporates after corporates are doings setting with hospitals or vaccine manufacturers and getting vaccines for their employees while common people wait all night to book COWIN appointment. Its worse than IRCTC booking a decade ago.

Same thing with testing of Covid, ICU bed innovt hospital pretty much everything. Can LocalCircles please escalate this issue. Can all of you give feedback? more

We also got Covishield vaccine 1st dose in a private hospital paying Rs.250/- per person and the second dose in a Govt. Pry Health Centre free of cost hassle free. At both the centre we just walked in and handed over our Adhaar Card and the remaining things were done by the hospitals. However, as referred to in the post, I think its not the VIP culture but India's most famous culture called 'corruption culture'. The monied men of our societies like to steal the shows in every walks of life by misusing their money power depriving the genuine beneficiaries and the needy. This is one of the main reasons that even after 75 years of indepence around 40% of our people are unable to provide 3 times meaql to their families and children. more
I have not experienced any VIP culture and I just walked to a municipal vaccination center and took both doses at the same center...1st one on 16th March and 2nd one on 27th April. I am a Sr citizen and not a VIP...I didn't know how to use the app but I couldn't face any problem more
I had first registered our (self & wife) names in Cowin App , which I didn't find to be difficult. Later both (senior Citizen) of us walked into our nearest Vaccine centre and were vaccinated by them after getting the slot from app. One month later, We took our first vaccination certificates to the same centre and they vaccinated us after getting the slot. However, they made some error in data feeding in case of my wife, as a result, the app. shows 2 satyavatis (my wife's name) but with the same Aadhar number but having each obtained first dose of vaccination on different dates. The App. also sent several messages to schedule appointment on 28/05 for second dose for one Satyavati. The reason why I sited this is to state that the App. has certain problems and it needs dedicated programmers for data validation. This is lacking in Health Ministry. In spite of the problems, it is workable. more
Yes, in India this VIP culture should be stopped. They get police protection and all other benefits. more
I agree that getting a slot in the covin portal is very difficult but I had done both the shots through the portal. However, blaming the Institutions as VIP culture is wrong as these institutions can make a big difference in the coverage of vaccination to all their employees in a quick span of time. With vaccine hesitancy very prevalent in our society, it is better to allow big institutions to come out and vaccinate all their employees and families and it is a good start.Need of the hour. However, the present shortage is the only concern which the government should be taking a proactive stand and get the necessary stock reaching the government vaccination program. In fact, they should compete with the private sector to achieve more numbers through their program. more
