VVIP Culture- Reply to Mr. Surya Rao

Dear Mr. Rao, I am writing this post and not replying to your post because I feel some points need to be discussed openly. Our this mindset of not able to accept critisism and turn it into our strength makes the difference between great and ordinary. So as a party let the leadership decide what they want- a one time result or truly establishing ourselves as a a Nationalistic party. Now coming to you point wise-
1. It's true BJP had not started VVIP culture. Is there any harm if we stop it ? Why did we talk about it before elections ?
2. If Arnab is earning in crore, why are the investigating agencies quiet ?
3. Why do we become sarcastic whenever there is any critisism ?
4. I can list you a number of points on which the government could have acted soon they were in power e.g., A strong Lokpal Bill without any compromise, cleanliness and safety in railways etc.
5. Lastly but most importantly Mr. Rao, 99.99% of us are common and ordinary people. We remember the 0.01% only for their deeds be it from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose or Gandhi, Martin Luther or Churchil. These people had taken all their critiques as their strength. Why can't we have the strength and courage to do something different and good forgetting our political compulsion? What's the harm in it ? Why do we have to write long essays justifying others are wrong ? Why do we shy away from condemning a CM who gives credit to Pakistan and terrorist for a peaceful vote !!?
Time is changing Mr. Rao and so are the people. AAP is the best example (whether they can deliver or not is a matter of time ). It's for us to decide as a party what we want- Short term or a place in people's heart ? more

What is wrong in giving a small credit to Pakistan for not having created any trouble or mischief. No harm. In fact it builds a good point in India's favour. One has to be objective and statesmanlike in these sensitive matters at least. Not petty minded and closed, just lampoon and criticize just for criticism sake. more
Dear Mr. Rao and Mr. Misra...a very healthy debate indeed...but I think we are missing the point here...I think we started only with a wrong note...lets not be political party specific..that is completely digressing from the the key topic. It there are contentious laws in security and any other parameters which encourages such mindless apartheid then lets take up the cudgels to abolish such laws through the legal and appropriate channels...taking the most easy and convenient route of quoting assassinations is the most misleading element here and of course there is no need to create our own political niche...we can try and solve this disease through apolitical means..... more
Mr. Rao thank you for the elaborate reply. Security and VIP culture need to be dealt separately. Many of the facts pointed out by you are very true. But what I am really trying to point out is not only the VIP culture but also other areas where we can be the first to stop or initiate things. Also let's not fall into the trap of what others are doing / saying. Let us create our own benchmark and political niche. more
Wow Mr.Mishra!!! Strong reply!! Very Strong & spirited reply indeed!!! But, what do we do with the self contradictions in ur own post. 01. You say, why do we shy away from condemning a CM who gave credit to Pakistan and terrorists for peaceful vote. But, same time, u dont hesitate to support AAP, who have openly called for plebiscite on Kashmir. Which is the line taken by Pakistan and the terrorists all these years. 02. Regards condemning a CM who thanked Pakistan and terrorists for peaceful vote. Didnt u read the statement of the 1st Hindu Deputy CM of J&K, which says, the only people to be thanked are, the people of Kashmir, the EC & the Armed Forces. Isnt that a slap on the face of the CM on his very 1st day? Also a sign of things to come for him as long as he needs BJP's support. 03. Again, I repeat, putting an end or curtailing VIP Culture is a thought process which shud be engaged and not sensationalized. Yes, BJP can and shud be the party who shud stop VIP Culture. 04. But again, what VIP Culture r we talking about or referring to? By VIP Culture I specifically mean the benefits being enjoyed by the children and relatives of VIPs. Whether, politicians, Police Officials, Army Officials, IAC Officers, etc. If we curtail their wrong doings, that, in itself is a great great service to the country. But, under the garb of curtailing VIP treatment, we cannot expose the near and dear ones of these VIPs to threat scenarios, which they usually r, being the immediate family of Public Servants. These children and immediate family of the VIP r the soft target for anyone who is bent on targeting them. How much VIP treatment one shud avail of as given by the State legally shud be left to the VIP's conscience. 05. Our problem is VIP treatment forcefully taken by children and relatives of VIPs even when they r not meant for them or entitled. This is what shud be totally removed and banished. WHICH I THINK THE BJP IS VERY WELL DOING AND ACHIEVING. 06. For example, if a particular Politician is entitled to a certain level of security, but his children r not. Then his children shud not also demand the same, like children of many politicians who r not entitled do. 07. A so/daughter/son-in-law/daughter-in-law/wife/husband or relative of a Politician or a Police Official or IAS officer shud not be allowed to go to any place and say, 'look, do u know who I am?' This is the VIP Culture which we shud destroy. 08. But not discuss endless and mindless hours about Z-Category Security given by the State as per law to a certain Politician. Z-Category is Z-Category, period!!! This is a law. No one can change the law, and that person deserves the same. I can fill this page with examples of assassinations and assassination attempts of Indian Politicians in spite of Z-Category. I hope I was able to put issues in perspective. more
