wanted to book Mumbai-Vadodara tikt., but couldn't
I was in USA and wanted to book Mumbai-Vadodara tikt., but couldn't as IRCTC site never opened was continuosly rejecting. This new website also doesn't provide me booking history & easy cancellation process.
I travelled from Vadodara to Jabalpur on Sept. 4th. I was on waiting list 3 which remained the same till last moment. Hence, tried alternative like tatkal through agent. I was assured CONFIRMED FRESH TIKT @ Rs. 2,500/- for 2AC. So corruption is as usual.
While returning from Jabalpur on SEPT. 12th, my food ( parathas ) were eaten away by rats which were in abundance in the train - SO MUCH FOR SWATCHHATA campaign for which Govt. is charging separate 'cess' from tax payers.

I have the same experience. This is because personal phone link [OTP] is not possible from out side India. I normally get reservation done by my Indian contact & he/ she send me scan Ticket to my mail. I the get a scan copy & this I get endorsed by Departing Station master showing my Scan ticket, Aadhar card & arrival details in Passport. Railway ticket reservation portal problem in july/august 2018 IS TRUE.IRCTC/railway officials are hand in gloves with travel agent lobby not to allow Indians to book railway tickets outside India. This was done to compel travellers to take services of travel agents in India to make money on railway reservations during DECEMBER 2018 SEASONS when NRIs visit India.IRCTC web site and even mobile android portal was not accessible.I had complained to all available email ids,twitter of Railway/IRCTC for this problem.IRCTC portal checks IP address while login in to portal for Railway reservation. If it find IP address outside India,portal will NOT open.I had found one solution to this problem and IT WORKED.Use opera browser and enable VPN (virtual Private network option ). and then you will be able to open IRCTC web site and reserve railway tickets outside India. this appears to be a very big scam and if any consumer organization/activist Reading this email should escalate this....aLL MY EMAILS TO RAILWAY/irctc/RAILWAY MINISTER TWITTER AND OFFICIAL EMAIL id-REAMINS UNANSWERED AND NO ACTION TAKEN BY THEM.
