WAR ON SINGLRE USE PLASTIC : WE ARE PROUD OF THE CONFIDENT APPROACH OF MODIJI AT G-7 .

THE MOST APPROPRIATE TOPIC TO DAY IN INDIA AND SWACHH AS WELL .

Some excerpts from the attachment that appeared in the Hindu today . P.M. also highlighted India’s extensive efforts towards eliminating Single use plastic , Conserving water , harnessing solar energy and protecting the flora and fauna.

Modi ji had also exuded confidence to the Indian Community at the UNESCO Headquarters , That the Climate Goals set for the year 2030 will be achieved in a year and half .

One and half years is not a long way , YET NOT IMPOSSIBLE AS LONG THE TARGET GROUP IS TACKLED PROPERLY AND NOT THROUGH MASS MEDIA ADVERTISEMENTS .

I will be the proudest Indian to support the Mission and celebrate the occasion. - Jai Hind more

Every reusable plastic product sold needs. The consumer should pay 1% extra as environmental charges On return of plastic or other reusable parts, this 1 % should be refunded. All money collected (all those who don't reclaim the extra charge) should be used for water conservation and environment protection. First plastic should be 5 % costly and recycled plastic should be 5% cheaper more
First thing to do immediately by the government is ban the industries which are producing single use bags. Even thick bags can be replaced by the paper bags which are having sufficient strength. more
It's easier said/proclaimed than done..... By all means, ban one-way plastic bags..............BUT.... Provide alternatives..... For example, let sellers provide "paper bags"....... made for instance out of recycled paper....But, these bags must have stability......not the ones which are in circulation these days....pack one thick book in it and it cracks at two bottom corners....or.....put a kg of sabzi/fruit in it and it doesn't survive your walk from the market to home..... Why don't our experts/politicians learn from the examples of other nations? They keep on travelling there, but have eyes focussed on other things..... In Germany, they provide you paper bags in which you can carry your "even heavy" shopping from the store to the car and from the car to the home......the paper of the bags does not give in.....And it can be re-used, because the paper bags are chargeable..... We, a land of khadi produce millions of cloth bags, but we the people find it below their dignity to carry such a bag with us for shopping. It's wee who need to change ourselves, not necessarily the others........who we readily want to put the blame on....... more
Plastics of Carry bags banned are in circulation by veg vendors, hotels etc. Rural campaigns are equally important. more
Central government's efforts in this regard are encouraging. But the real culprits are the state governments and the local bodies who have to step up their efforts in (a) implementing the plastic ban wherever possible (b) arrange for collecting and recycling the plastic waste and (c) for creating mass awareness among the people as well as the officials concerned. more
