Water beling sold at 10 times of MRP

Some restaurants are charging over 10 times of that of MRP. A 19 rupees Aquafina bottle is being charged at 200 rupees.

Is the Department of Consumer Affairs doing anything to stop this loot and if so what exactly. Or we should just stop eating out at nice places?

Why is there no law that permits consumer to take their own water to such restaurants. more

I always carry my own bottle of boiled water/bottled water from home for my and my friends' consumption while visiting any restaurant. I alert the waiter and tell them they are not to bill me for bottled water. No restaurant can ban our bringing water. Just let them try. L.Kalavathi Retd. The MRP enforcement squad are not effective and the Department of Consumer Affairs is bothered in view of the latest Supreme Court direction. more
