WATER IN 2070

The attachment by Anshu Saxena is very informative and futuristic and should provoke each one's thought
.When you take a look back :

OUR FOREFATHERS SAW WATER IN THE RIVERS,
OUR PARENTS IN THE WELLS,
WE IN THE PIPES,
OUR CHILDREN IN BOTTLES.

Where will our Grand children find water ? more

How water is being wasted and Microlevel solutions: * Wherever free supply of pipe water is given we see water leaking through faulty Taps. The pipe is busy only for a short while not more than 1 hour. But the supply is not stopped after that ; another 2 hours water will be leaking. Neither the authorities nor the community bother about the flowing water that is wasted. * We do see how much of water is wasted while giving water by Tankers. Use proper methods to ration water into the individual vessels. Like the caption every init saved is every unit generated in Electricity Every ounce saved is every ounce generated . Solutions :To be taken up on war footing at the micro level: 1.The piped water supply in areas should be monitored either by authorities or responsible local communities. The leakages in the taps [which don’t close properly] should be brought to the notice of the right persons to rectify immediately. Towards this the spares like washers and some other parts should be available readily and not apply for indent and then buy .The time should be saved to stop wastage of water as much as possible. 1.A. The pipe ordering officials should know the pressure of water that comes in the taps and pipes and order the quality and strength of the pipes accordingly. 1.B. The buyer that is the Government or Panchayat should obtain guarantee from the seller for the taps pipes supplied. 2.When water tank supply water to communities, streets , the Tanker staff should be consciendized[made aware of ] first about the value of water and the need to save and preserve without wastage. They should also be provided with appropriate handling materials that will effectively stop wastage of water. That is how the public will get aware of the need to save water. 3. Recycle water at every home : example the vessel wash water, bath water can be used to flush the toilet , Can be diverted towards trees and plants . This may take a minute or 2 more but is worth the trouble in the long run. 4. Show films of how people survive in water starved places in the world. Simultaneously the measures should be taken up at macro level to prevent a topsy- turvy process. more
