Can anyone please tell me what measures have been taken by mcd or delhi govt in relation to water logging ? My husband spent 3.5 hours in traffic yesterday getting to noida to pick up a family member. more
I must say you are lucky that your husband was stuck only for 3.5 hours. Last year people were stuck for more than 10 hours in Gurgaon - Sohna Road stretch. The so called millenium city is now having its replica in Noida and U.P. is the brother of Haryana so you can expect same conditions here. As far as Delhi is concerned, the center never allowed AAP Government to function and poor CM has been made a laughing stock by all and sundry...now when we have problem we just look for a scapegoat...that is what even center has been doing...mocking..deriding...making him a butt of jokes...but now the laughter is on us....he had stopped payment to MCD workers who are lazy louts who keep harping about pending payments but for work done by them they always pass the buck to DMRC constructions. But I guess Delhi never had the experience of floods...maybe this time that wish would be fulfilled. more
If you ask now the response would be we had taken all actions and are fully prepared. The ground realities would be that during actual rains we will be so much frustrated in a jam that we will feel lucky that we have reached home or office and forget that we have to ensure their accountability. So cycle keeps on revolving every year. The Chief of the country is busy in discharging foreign Ministry Affairs and Forign Ministry is busy only in individual calls which should have been task of a Secretary or a Director. So this is the storey and will be like that until we start questioning. more
Dear All Members, Please do not expect any good deeds from MCD officials or Delhi Government or Central Government because none of them has time to extend the needed services for the citizens and that too in national capital and region. I am trying to console myself for such terrible situations in our country and hopefully the day will soon come when I shall be no more. more
None. Do whatever we can not to contribute increasing bad situation. Increase time to travel. Find different routes if we can. Wait end of rainy season. May be Central GOvt will own up Delhi. more
So such problems will never end until Honest & Patriotic PM, CM head the Country and the States and Other higher dignitaries join the important Ministries & Department. So bear with the situation. more
Unfortunately we born in an Asian country, where there is no honesty in the people even before their own family members! The people here have become habitual to be after someone (bureaucrat or politician) for petty vested interests and fight with the persons having the common interest to be faithful and trustworthy before these politicians and the bureaucrats, hence the bureaucrats and politicians following the rule of Britishers 'Divide and Rule' consequently our vote goes to corrupt and discriminating politicians who come into force on our votes for five years in the form of Legislative Assembly, Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha to rule us. Whereas, India is a democratic country and the voters have the power to change the Government before 5 years if all common people agitate before the Government for common interest and if necessary abolish the Legislative Assembly, Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha. more
It is very surprising thing because I come across two underpasses regularly - 1. The first one remains dry throughout the year - its a new one constructed as the old one did not have drainage system and was a single lane. The new one is two lane and has drainage facility. It remains dry mostly. 2. The second one gets flooded by water even due to small drizzles. It is also a new underpass and has drainage system. Every day the traffic is re-routed from this underpass. more
