Water Supply in Delhi – DJB issues
1. Water supply is quite irregular, especially in summers
2. Water supply is dirty and non-drinkable, causing many diseases
3. Pipelines are broken which leads to huge wastage of water
4. Sewer water gets mixed up with drinking water
5. Water bills are becoming higher
6. Water bills don’t reach houses on time
7. Getting new water connection requires bribing the officials
8. Complaints are not easily answered by DJB officials
9. Jet-pumps are installed without any approval
10. Some areas do not even have any piped water supply and rely on water tanks more

In my opinion there should be 3rd party testing and certifying agencies for meters. Who will test and certify meters at regular intervals. It is known that any measuring device is prone to drift. more

The only way to verify the authenticity of meters is to get it checked from independent test house and not merely Govt. approved test house. One should not be surprised if one finds that Govt approved test centers also have defective testing machines and not calibrated at desired intervals. In my opinion IIT,Delhi may be a reliable option for sample checking because they have trained staff and good machines to test. more

What has been noticed is that all new houses which have been fitted with new meters (electronic), have shown drastic increase in bill amounts. This could have something to do with quality of meters. Even otherwise, what is being seen of late is, there is huge variance in bill amounts of different households. This requires a deeper look in. more

Water is the main problem in Delhi. One house is getting water in plenty while the talender is not getting the water at all. All leakage in water pipe line be stopped. This is due to poor management in supply of water by DJB officials. First thing we should consider is to connect every water connection with water meter. We should abolish the policy of water connection without meter in rural areas. This will be helpful in conservation of water. Ram Yadav. more

We find lot of wastage of water through leaking water lines throughout Delhi.First of all such leakages must be stopped. more
