We dont need Bullet trains.

Whenever I desired to travel by train I have always found a huge waiting list. Then till last moment I used to check the status if the tkt is confirmed or not. Hardly it got confirmed and we are forced to pay double amount to agent for tatkal booking. That is also with no guarantee .
I am sure that all of us have come across with this problem.
Rather than going for Bullet train, Govt should focus on improving the normal train condition. Several places in India, trains are still running on single track. Hence trains are getting late always. Why don't Railway minister concentrate on increasing more coaches in train & installing more railway tracks.
Looking at the huge expenses on Bullet train, I am sure Bullet train will be only for rich classes & not for middle class people. India can not afford to spend so lavishly on bullet train. India needs primarily basic infrastructure like escalators on big junctions, more trains, bridges & less of waiting list.
BJP have ignored Aam-aadmi & Railway minister is on wrong track. more

Moreover land will have to acquired 120 meter wide for two tracks for above 500 kilometers and each station may require about 30 acres of land. Add the cost of land acquisition and rehabilitation along with Rs. 200 crore per kilometer. Just imagine what the ticket fare will be run profitably. Running at a lower fare will drain the economy. more
Mr. Prince you should think from the perspective of common man. I am sure Tkt fare of bullet trains will be out of the reach of middle class people. Those who are financially sound can always opt to travel by Air. This train will only benefit certain class of people, not for masses. Before the introduction of Bullet trains, there is a drastic need to improve basic infrastructure. After all, BJP have come to power mainly from the Votes of middle class and poor people. more
No Sir....u r wrong in this regard...see at other side of coin..although expenditure will be more but think about the service. I am not as experienced as u bt can see trrough clearly. One bullet train can make at least four trip between ahemdabad and mumbai. but a general or even Rajdhani can't even a two trip. The people who use to stay for a day or more in ahemdabad or mumbai can do up and down. A man who is working in Mumbai having a good post or rich businessman is forced to live in mumbai although he has a home at Ahemdabad. Due to having good financial condition he surely buy a home or live on rent and at the same time his bungalow at Ahemdabad is vacant. For that ,new residential must be created and at the same time natural resources will be harmed surely otherwise from where u will get land. But by this facility u can do up and down daily as much as possible. Don't think it for a particular perspective or for 1 to 2 people but for a mob or only 1000 to 2000 people then u will realize oh it is better......and I am sure the number i have given is very less ,there are so many person like that......And in the term of business Bullet train will cover the expenditure in only 4 to 5 year by its own. more
I agree with Tusharji. Running Bullet Trains at a cost of Rs.200 crore per kilometre by acquiring new land will surely be a heavy drain on the economy. The present condition of the Indian Railways should improved by laying more tracks with e signalling, removing the bends will enable trains to run at 200 kmph. would be more advisable. more
