We really have to think disposing off Puja Samagris more seriously … normally we disperse them in rivers (along with polythene bags sometimes) in the revers and some time in cross roads or some time near to Peepal tree or so on (just to take them out from our homes )
- Can’t we dig little and dispose the Samagri within soil (of cores without polythene bags )
- Or we can think of having a place to incinerate (electrical) in each community
- Keep special disposal containers (separately colour coded) near to each river points ,public can dispose the samagries in those containers instead for dispersing them to rivers and corporation can take them for incineration
- We can even think of volunteers who can collect such samagries from home to home with very nominal charges (some youth can get job well ) more

From bio waste we can even generate power. The BMW Bavaria plant works 75% on methane gas generated by bio waste, why cant we think on this grounds. more
Similarly Prasadam also. Tirupati, we dont offer Prasad. Temple management is doing it. and giving Prasad for some money. This is as good as offering Prasad to God yourself. because the process of offering is also done by temple managenet....People should not spread Prasad in Temples. Again, this system of ofering Prasad must have staeted with the idea of helping a devoted Bramhin who runs a temple, in such places it is ok. SO LET US DO AWAY WITH THE PRACTICE OF OFFERING FLOWERS AND PRASADAM AT TEMPLES. more
Nobody offers flowers in Church and Buddhist temple.....Flowers are required for decoration in temple, which the temple management is doing. So it is not necessary to offer flowers. People should understand this. more
Good to have lot more ideas coming ..definetely we can com out with some better solution..is really sad to see Puja samagries dumped ..just to take it out from our home. more
Very good Echo Friendly and hygienic colour can be made from the flowers we throw every day after performing Pujas. The quantity goes astoundingly high during festivals like Durga Puja etc. A drive was given to install different vats near Ghats on the bank of the Ganges for collection of flowers. People were requested to dump flowers from the deity into the vats instead of into the river. It worked well but there is no proper follow up. This system can be implemented in all types of garbage and can be utilized in many ways like preparing manures, or even generating power. But first of all habit of cleanliness must grow in the public through stringent law and strict implementation of it. more
