Yes ,this is Kodambuli,which makes Kerala fish curries delicious. A distant cousin is Kokkam- garcicnia indica- goan tamarind which is common in Maharashtra & Goa. Kodampuli has the property to help weight loss & reduce cholosterol, Ayurveda specifies this to be taken instead of Tamarind along with most of Ayurvedic medicicnes. Garcinia Cambogia is a plant known as SWEET TAMRIND WHICH IS PROBABLY MALABAR TAMRIND. IT has some role in weight loss but please note that diet control and good exercise is the only way to reduce weight. If you stop taking sugar and minimize the carbohydrate,your weight will automatically come down. If possible please go for 30 to 40 minutes morning walk with full speed. If you continue this for at least 60 days, your weight will certainly come down. We normally do not suggest any medicine for weight loss. more
