Weights and measures
The rampant cheating in weights and measures of commodities the citizens buy from markets and bazars is so severe in all the states of the country that some coordinated centralised solutions are immediately necessary. State govts have weights and measures deptts, but they are manned by inadequate number of staff and corrupt personnels. There must be kiosks in bazars where the buyers can check the weight of commodities they buy whenever they feel it necessary. However, these kiosks must have also the police protections. more

We are having digital balance brought from USA. Many a times we have cross checked Vegetables, fruits purchased from many Vendors, found less in weight. When we took up the issue with vendor but they talk so rubbish & harsh, that too when others are listening, become intolerable & awkward, we have to leave the place immediately. Almost, more than 50% vendors ( Vegetable / Meat / Fish / Fruits) cheat openly. It is also observed that many of the packed box of Biscuits , Sweets too are less in weight as mentioned. How many times, a citizens can complain to police ? if u do more than 2 to 3 times, u become laughing material to them. more
