Welcoming CEO FSSAI to Food Safety circle

It gives me immense pleasure to welcome Mr. Pawan Agarwal, CEO, FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India) to the Food Safety circle of India.

Mr. Agarwal has brought a new sense of urgency, a collaborative approach and best practices into the workings of FSSAI. I believe with FSSAI enabling this circle, his engagement in the initiative and your active participation in food safety matters, we have the opportunity to make Safe Foods a in way of life in India in the years to come.

This initiative also sets a new example of governance where a leader of an important Government department is directly engaging with the citizens in a community setting where everyone is empowered.

While FSSAI team will respond to day to day issues, we look forward to hearing from Mr. Agarwal as his schedule permits.

Thanks for your commitment to the cause of Food Safety!

It is all said n done just like an eye wash. As a concerned citizen, have drwan the attention of local food inspectorate n officers on various adulteration in food items. - The food Dept only comes in action during festive season, like holi, Diwali, taking samples but there after no action taken report is ever published. -In Gujarat ,very famous snack, called FAFADA, GANTHIYA, GOTA, IN ALL THEY ADD WASING SODA, INSTEAD OF SODABICARB, I have never seen any such samples ever taken by food inspectors. It is all eaten in tons thru out the state. This washing soda is very harmful,so if Mr. Agarwal read this ,must immediately order checking of all such items, whether small gallawala or lariwala, or other such vendors. No mercy. The began they use is also not pure, the oil in which they fry all such stuff, though food Dept.has issued notice for not using repeatedly same oil, because it is carbonised n very harmful. But such notice only remains on paper. -One more issue on which hon Chairman, FSSAI needs to take immediate action, demanding exception reports form each food inspectors, per day. This will make them work n people will also know . - Instead of helpline numbers, in each city the respective chief, inspectors contact details must be published , giving wide publicity , so that people can directly contact them.No need to send in writing any complain. Even the milk processing dairies n their parlours should not be spared from surprise checks. All above cited issues , are they not known to FSSAI? - more
