These items will become cheaper provided the benefit of reduced tax is passed on to the consumers. Our past experience tells a different story where the benefit of tax reduction was absorbed by the manufacturers and the retailers. Furnishing of a list of items becoming costlier due to increase in tax would be more beneficial for the consumers. However, a good job has been done, keep it up. more

Good data..would help also if existing taxes and the GST tax is given to indicate how much the cost should come down (given that factory cost remains same). This will give the consumer a handle to press the shopkeeper. Id someone gives the data, I could do the calculation of expecred drop. In the same breath I would suggest we have the same data for goods where prices are increasing. Laudable effort Shikha!!! more
