What is the best way to validate an idea for a kitchen appliance?

I am working on prototyping an idea for the Indian home market. The product I am prototyping is an appliance that helps in food preparation. It will save time and hassle and would be suitable who do not get enough time to spend preparing food at home.
I would like to understand what is the best way to validate the idea and get an idea about the spending limit of the target audience. In other words, what is the best way to work out the price the target user would be willing to pay?
