What is the fate of over 1,00,000 e-rickshaw drivers?
Lest AK take credit of demand for regularization of e-rickshaws, Gadkari ji made fastest move and lured e-rickshaw drivers by declaring at organized maha rally in June'14 that he will amend Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 by excluding e-rikshaws with motor power upto 650 W as non-motorized vehicle.
However, HC banned e-rickshaws temporarily with instructions to the Govt to formulate proper policy AT THE EARLIEST to ensure quality and safety of riders. HC was willing to lift ban once proper policy comes into force.
Thereafter, Govt. & MCD has slept over the bread & butter problem of > one lakh poor drivers. Now, leader like AK is needed to wake up the Govt from deep sleep and Red Tapism.
This is where AK is required deperately by the common man. more

Suniljee I agree with your post.No body is bothered either for poor people or keeping law. What matters is how they can take a political mileage out of the problem faced by common men. more

What our management of resource or our governance missed is the spirit of Article 39. Constitution ie. (a) that the citizens, men and women equally, have the right to an adequate means to livelihood; (b) that the ownership and control of the material resources of the community are so distributed as best to sub-serve the common good; and (c) that the operation of the economic system does not result in the concentration of wealth. more
