What should India do to strengthen rupee?
Marc Faber, a known financial markets expert who earlier this year had projected a 20 per cent drop in Sensex to a sub-30,000 level, now says the rupee could hit 100 a dollar mark in the next few years. According to him, India’s fiscal position is not particularly good. Either India has to increase interest rate meaningfully or has to let rupee depreciate over time, Faber told in an interview on Tuesday.
I am very concerned that India does not have a proper strategy on the rupee front and we dont really hear much from the Govt on the plan. We have come from 65 to 75 and really cant afford to go down by 10 rupees each year like this. Can the economics experts of this circle please share what should be done and may be the localcircles manager can highlight via polls etc to the PM/FM. more

Our dependence on foreign product is increasing day by day.This in turn increases dependence on USD.That is why USD keeps on appreciating.We should reduce unnecessary imports. more

We do not want to STOP BUYING Chinese product, still blame govt. Govt. can INCREASE Anti Dumping by 100% from the current rate. When the price becomes expensive, then only people will start buying Indian stuffs. more

I have only one question, why we have to depend on government efforts only, when we will start making our own contributions too? I feel first thing is to boycott all Chinese products flooding market, which are injurious to health and economy both, as they are sub standard products and China is using India as dumping ground for most sub standard products. By just managing the trade balance with China, India can reverse the trend in rupee, and we consume what we produce, instead of going for cheap imports from China? Once we start respecting our made in India products the trend will reverse sooner then our imagination JAGO BHARAT JAGO more
