Whatsapp targeting us

This is a very interesting survey here LocalCircles

https://www.localcircles.com/a/press/page/whatsapp-unwanted-messages

The reason I find this interesting is not because it says everyone getting pesky message on whatsapp. That we all know. But because it seems reading this report that whatsapp may be sharing our activities/conversation/keywords with those who we have in past done business chat with and those folks are reminding us or bombarding us with their offers.

Its like airtel jio VI assisting advertisers to spam us and making money. That would be unethical. So whatsapp must come out and state is it facilitating our spamming or spammers are doing it directly and whatsapp us being used. Answer to this question is key. Everyone share your experience! more

Our data is used left and right more
I think Airtel, Jio etc do it to have additional (And probably unaccounted ) Income. more
if we get into using social media apps a lot this is the risk unless it is very essential we should not be wasting our time on these more
absolutely.
No point talking about personal data being used . more
Most social media do the same. Data is king more
That is how Whatsapp is giving you a FREE service, by using your details and information for their own purposes. more
One can still understand why Whatsapp might be doing this. But why are Airtel, Jio, etc. getting away with this when the subscribers pay for their services. Govt. / TRAI should be taking strict action in the case of Telecom providers. more
